Shot List

For our horror trailer we needed to do a lot of planning before we started to create the horror trailer, this is because it saves us time when we are shooting the movie and also we know what camera angles we want and also what we need to be filming so that it made us organised. So we decided in our group the different conventions that make a horror trailer successful, and also by looking at the audience research that we had collected to generate this list:
  • Location is a major factor, so opening scene of the house with the trees featured infront to make it look slightly more of a horror movie so the audience could tell the genre of the movie.
  • The woods, also by having canted camera angles.
  • To include the hot tub into the party scene, by having peter the main protagonist floating on top.
  • A shot of one of the survivors running through the woods, needed to find a good location where some one can run along side with the camera.
  • One of the victims being dragged along.
  • Characters dancing at the party, and looking like they are having a good time.
  • The shot of some one's phone where they can't get any signal, showing they are isolated.
  • Shot of Peter walking around the woods with a weapon, maybe walking through the trees.
  • Running along shots.
  • Shots of the woodland, this way it again sets the location for the movie.
  • Scene of Peter acting Deranged and going insane, this way it relates to the title.
  • Shots of the main protagonist covered in blood, and also some one of the characters where they have been injured.
  • Some superior shots of the house, and also the woodland.
  • The characters running for their lives, through the woods trying to find a way out.
  • In the party scene there needs to be also a bottle of drink to make it look like a real party.
  • Some shots of the party, from a higher angle long shot.
  • One of the characters running in the woods, and in a state of panick they trip over.
  • Shot of main protagonist and the hero, this shows the contrast of good and evil.
  • Puddle of blood.
  • If we didn't have the shot of Peter floating on the hot tub, have some of the people from the party sitting in there.
  • Faces looking confused.
  • Shot of a sign, showing people shouldn't enter.
  • The main protagoinst grabbing one of the characters as they run away.
  • A point of view of the character running through the trees for their life.
  • Images are used to look like they are being watched, giving a creepy feeling.
  • Close up of an eye.
  • One of the characters being attacked or maybe killed, by the sledge hammer but we don't see all of this shot as the main protagonist will be in most of the frame.
  • Close up of Peters face.
  • From outside the house a frame showing people dancing in the house, showing the begining scene of the house party.
  • Crane shot of the garden
  • Intertitles
  • Group of friends with the camera man in the middle spinning around.
  • Characters looking for Peter
  • Use torches in the dark to look for Peter
  • Hear a scream in the woods, every one points their touches over to the woods looking.
  • Running into the trees at my house.
  • Running into the woods
  • Person being killed.
  • Some one saying "I cant get any signal"
  • Body on floor.
  • Peters mouth covered in blood.
  • Final girl looking terrfied.
  • Camera rising for the back of final girl, with a shot of Peter in the background.
